About Amy Irons, LAC
I’m Amy Irons, a Licensed Associate Counselor practicing at Core Balance Counseling in Mesa, Arizona. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and seasons of feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
My Counseling Approach
I believe you are more than your struggles, symptoms, or diagnosis. You are a whole person with a story, strengths, and a capacity for growth—even if it’s hard to see right now.
My counseling style is:
Trauma-informed: We honor your nervous system and move at a pace that feels safe.
Collaborative: I don’t sit in the expert chair telling you what to do. We work together.
Compassionate and direct: I’ll listen deeply, but I’ll also gently challenge patterns that keep you stuck.
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships.
Who I Work With
I primarily work with:
Teens and young adults facing anxiety, depression, identity struggles, and school or social stress
Adults dealing with unresolved trauma, burnout, grief, or ongoing emotional overload
Individuals who have tried to “hold it together” for everyone else but feel like they’re falling apart inside
What You Can Expect With Me
In our sessions, you can expect a warm and grounded presence. I’ll ask curious questions, offer practical tools, and make plenty of space for your emotions, your story, and your pace.
You don’t have to be “put together” to start therapy. You can come as you are—messy, unsure, hopeful, or scared. We’ll sort through it together.
